Yarmouth Cup - Ocean Race The Yarmouth Cup Ocean Race is a joint endeavour of the Gulf of Maine
Ocean Racing Association and the Yarmouth Ocean Racing Association of Nova Scotia. This event which began as a trial in 1990 has expanded to the point where it has received international attention for its sense of friendly competition as well as its hospitality. This 174 nautical mile ocean race from Casco Bay in Falmouth, Maine to Yarmouth Harbour in Nova Scotia is an excellent end of the season event for all classes of boats - racing, cruising and multi-hull. The summer winds are still unpredictable enough that strategy plays an important part. The historic Yarmouth Cup, standing 3 ˝ feet tall, originated for yacht racing in Yarmouth Harbour. Following a period of 90 years, the cup was revived in 1990 for the inaugural Yarmouth Cup Ocean Race. The international fleet is joined in Yarmouth by the local inshore Schooner Pass Race originating in Argyle, Nova Scotia. Current Entries for
